Thank you everyone for coming to National Family Day Lunch on Tuesday. Hats off to the cafeteria ladies and crew! We had a record crowd and appreciate you all also supporting our book fair in the library. These fairs not only support our library but also technology equipment and software for our school. Thank you everyone who has been working so hard planning and preparing for the Fall Into Step Gala- “Sensational Soiree”event tomorrow, September 18! We are all looking forward to a fun-filled night of feasting and merriment! We are so blessed here at St. Rose School with awesome parents, students, faculty and staff! Please pray for the soul of Sarah Lippman who passed into God’s loving arms a week ago. Mrs. Lippman was a benefactor of St. Rose School in recognition of our students entertaining at Colonial Nursing Home. Let us remember her and may her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace, Amen. This Sunday is Catechetical Sunday where faculty and staff are commissioned at the 10:00 mass at St. Rose Parish. There is a virus going around and we ask you to remind the children to wash their hands often and not share drinks. Good luck to our Cardinal volleyball team who play in a tournament at St. Michael Weimar tomorrow! Next week is ITBS testing for K-8 and we need all students present. It is very difficult to find time for make-ups.
ITBS K-8 TESTING WEEK → SEPTEMBER 20-24
Students MUST BE PRESENT and will not be excused for any appointments.
Wednesday 5-8 Anti-Bullying Program 10-11:30 @ SHS Church Hallettsville
Please join us whenever you can for our weekly school mass on Thursdays. The experience is wonderful with the religion classes taking turns preparing the liturgies and our priests guiding the children and us through their inspirational homilies. Also, check out Fr. Tim’s weekly message in the Schulenburg Sticker ‘From The Pastor’s Desk’. This week he tells us: “Seeing our own errors means that we repent. We turn around like the younger son, admit our mistakes and come home. All of us have some area in our lives where we need to repent. Our repentance might center around those who have strayed away from the faith in our families or in our church. Repentance might have to do with involvement in social justice issues, family squabbles, or too much drinking, eating, smoking, drugs. God encourages us to repent and change; God goes after us like the shepherd after that 100th sheep, or like the woman searching for that one lost coin. But, like the old father in the Gospel, God also does not run after us. He lets us make mistakes and patiently watches the road. He hopes we will return home.
With school well in progress let us all stay on track toward positive life-giving attitudes. “Good, better, best! I will never rest until my good is better and my better is my best. That’s the secret to success.” “Plan your work and work your plan.”
Have a great weekend! Take Care and God Bless! See you at the FIS Gala!
